Why, hello everyone! It’s been a long time since HwL has made a post. Kids and end of the school year and all that tends to dictate your time. Now that it is summer, it’s time to get back at it.
First things first, there was a big trip that happened since the last time we’ve had a post. I accompanied by son and his class on a trip to Washington, DC and New York City! It happened at the end of April into May. We saw quite a bit of history along the way. I am still not quite sure how I am going to write about it. So far, I know words will be typed and buttons pushed. One thing is for sure; they kept you busy on this trip. By “they” I mean the tour company, EF Tours. It’s a good call too. Having 60 or so 14-year-olds with lots of free time away from their parents is asking for trouble.
Besides the big trip and school coming to a close once again, I’ve been doing a lot of reading. My daughter told me about a life-changing technique called immersion reading. It combines reading a physical book (or e-reader) with listening to the audiobook version at the same time. This method enhances comprehension, focus, and retention by engaging both visual and auditory senses. I ripped that last sentence from Google but that doesn’t make it less true. I’ve seen a noticeable difference in both my focus and retention. I can’t recommend it enough.
Well, that’s all there is for this post. We have to ease back into it after such a long hiatus. Until next time,
